Stillbirth
(2016)
In Stillbirth, mythic dreams of ovarian teratomas and the vagina dentata collide with Caribbean Carnival practices. Remaining in this wake, is an intimate portrait, a glimpse into the crevices of a body steeped in rebellion. With reverence for the almighty uterus, Stillbirth examines loss, the absurd, and making space anew.
Created in part in residence at BAAD! through Open Call 2016 - a project partnership between BAAD! and Pepatián and with commissioning support from Gibney Dance, with funds provided by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
